Hope you all had a SPOOKTACULAR HALLOWEEN!  WE SURE DID!  Despite our bake sale being canceled due to bad weather the week before, Dead End Studios had a wonderful Halloween!  We entered the town's parade as usual, but this year I decided to put a twist on a character I am working on.  I created a Miss. Gein costume.  For those of you who don’t study into forensic cases, Ed Gein was a serial killer that many films were based off.  He sparked creators to come up with sick characters such as the Texas Chainsaw Massacre’s Leather Face, The Silence of the Lambs Buffalo Bill, and Psycho’s Norman Bates.  Ed Gein was known for skinning his victims, sewing skins together, shrinking heads, storing body parts, and digging up graves to make human “art”.  So my costume was a spin off of a bloody butcher type of costume, with a sicker twist.  It wasn’t cow she was making burgers out of ….

SO here are a few pics.  We went in the parade as an old “Miss. Gein” fictional character with two bloodied up tortured victims (my dear friends Amanda Clark and “TC” Clark.  Thank you both for going in the parade with me and for choosing to put your share of the money towards the studio as well.  THANK YOU SO MUCH!

• Sign-ups are at the front of RITE AID on the morning of April 11^th, 2009 during our fundraiser out front.

To celebrate Easter and to fund our new projects Dead End Studios is hosting an Easter Bake/ CD/ DVD Sale held at MUTZABAUGH'S MARKET in DUNCANNON on APRIL 11, 2009!

MARCH 14th all day and MARCH 15th morning!

CASTING CALL SIGN-UPs at MUTZABAUGHS MARKET, DUNNCANNON PA on MARCH 14 and 15th.  This is the same days as the bake sale!  So stop by, get some treats and sign up!

Want to star in a short film!?  Next month we are filming a hit man piece and still need some cast members!  At this time we are only hoping for volunteer work, but our payment to you is EXPOSURE, KNOWLEDGE, and we are willing to work with you for a video portfolio of your best works! This short film will be entered into the Cannes Film Festival, Slam Dance, Sundance, and other film festivals around October.  The bottom line, exposure is key and we acknowledge this, and want you to succeed as an actor.   

Filming in Central PA, so hopefully you live near us.  At this point there is no direct payment.  All volunteer work.  If you live a distance away but we see you as perfect for the part, we may be able to come up with something.  WE need to keep our minds open.

Needed Cast:

The Bounty Hunter: 

One of our main characters, the bounty hunter hires out main character to make his kill. This is a long term role over the coming years, as the character is part of a film we are pitching to Lionsgate, as well as more in the coming years, so only those seriously interested in dedicating themselves to the project should apply.

Description:  Mid to late twenties, willing to be lenient on appearance.  Clean Shaven, muscular, and intimidating; Carries himself with strength and determination.  Is slightly laid back in character but remains focused on work.  He has a deep history so his eyes need to read well.  This person needs to look like they could kill.   

The Victim that is not really the victim:

Description:  He has a Wentworth Miller type of look, broody but knowledgeable.  Attractive, lean and strong and is willing to work on future films with us as well.  Lenient on appearance, we are open minded to new faces.

Extra Sign-ups:

All and any ages.  Both Genders, but not many are needed for this film.  If you still are generally interested, we will need a lot of extras in our future films.

Saturday March 14  and Sunday 15 Dead End Studios LLC is having a fundraiser at Mutzabaugh's Market in Duncannon, PA!!!  DES is kicking off the year with high hopes.  Tatiana’s New Year’s Resolution this year was to have the studio make it to multiple film fests and for the studio to earn money through DVD and merchandise sales.  This takes money to get up and running.  This bake sale’s funds will go towards their next feature length film and upgrading their studio software.  The studio's goal this year is to be able to enter into Cannes film fest, Slam Dance, and Sundance as well as other smaller fests.   From March on through the summer and fall, Dead End Studios hopes to have bake sales, carwashes, soup sales, and other fundraisers to aid in reaching their goals.  Help Dead End Studios!  Donate and enjoy delicious treats…we know you want to!
